21.11.2024 - 30 years of Pohl Design!

Today I can officially look back on 30 years of professional work experience.

On November 18, 1994, I submitted my diploma thesis in the Department of Economics for examination and started working full-time just three days later. And I have continued to do so without interruption to this day. However, I had already developed knives as a working student. Designs such as the Magnum Collection Knife 1995 or the iconic Boker Speedlock switchblade were already created on my drawing pad, which has now been produced in countless variations for 30 years. In the 13 years that followed, countless other developments and designs were to follow. From 2007 to 2008, I also left my mark in another Solingen-based company with the Eickhorn Pohl One or SEK, which are still successfully offered today.

In December 2008, I finally went into business for myself as the designer and managing director of Pohl Force GmbH, where I was able to live out my dream as a knife enthusiast. I am one of the few lucky people in this world who can say that I have turned my hobby into my profession. And not only that, but for me the MK9 Heartstopper for my friend Sylvester Stallone’s last Rambo movie was a dream come true almost 40 years ago and closed a circle.

I am delighted to be able to celebrate this anniversary with you and look forward to the years to come. I would like to thank you all for your loyalty and support over the years.

Originally created by designer Dietmar Pohl as the third design for a LAST BLOOD - MOVIE KNIFE, we decided to bring it to life in a limited edition to mark the 40th anniversary of the action series.

The Final Edition comprises the last 100 pieces of the limited MK-11 Last Blood^® Concept. Each knife features a laser engraving of the elaborately designed Final Edition logo - an interpretation based on the former MACV-SOG coat of arms. The individual limitation number is shown above it. Another highlight is the patch woven in a very small edition whose color design is based on historical pieces.

The RT Baker patch is an interpretation of the former coat of arms of the MACV-SOG special unit. The action hero with the code name “Raven” was a member of the “Baker” reconnaissance team in the first film, to whom Pohl Force has dedicated the limited special edition of the MK-9 Legacy | RT Baker.

Produced using a weaving process, the patch achieves a high level of detail that conventional embroidered patches cannot match. Equipped with a Velcro backing, the patch can be attached to caps, bags or jackets. A real eye-catcher on your equipment or as a collector's item in your collection!

MACV - SOG (Military Assistance Command, Vietnam - Studies and Observation Group), 1964 to 1972: special operations force deployed for top-secret operations during the Vietnam War in Southeast Asia.

In the film “First Blood”, the action hero with the code name “Raven” was a member of the MACV-SOG reconnaissance team “Baker”, which Pohl Force would like to honor with this special edition. An interpretation of the former coat of arms of the special unit is applied to the blade of the MK-9 Legacy | RT Baker as an elaborately designed laser engraving. A further highlight is the patch woven for the edition in a very small batch. This makes the MK-9 Legacy | RT Baker a unique collector's item with a real historical reference.

22.09.2024 - BACK IN HOPE, B.C.: PRESENTATION OF THE MK-9 LEGACY TO THE CITY OF HOPE.

2022 was a special year for designer Dietmar Pohl. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary, he was able to travel to the place where both the story of the film First Blood began and his personal life story: Hope, British Columbia, Canada.

To honor the 40th anniversary, Dietmar Pohl designed the extraordinary MK-9 Legacy survival knife, which had its world premiere in Hope. The very first prototype of the MK-9 Legacy with Kydex® sheath was presented on the banks of the Fraser River in the breathtaking landscape of British Columbia. The Pohl Force MK-11 also made its debut there. The time in Hope became an unforgettable experience!

For the summer of 2024, Dietmar Pohl planned to return to Canada to gift two MK-9 Legacy to the city of Hope for its own museum.

After the sales launch in fall 2023, the interest in the anniversary knife, the MK-9 Legacy, was huge. The majority of the limited edition MK-9 Legacy is already sold out. Only a few examples still available.

This July, the time had come and the Pohl Force team headed from Frankfurt to British Columbia. A ten-hour flight to Vancouver and another two hours by car to reach Hope. Nestled between impressive mountain ranges and seemingly endless forests, the town lies on the banks of the Fraser River.

23.08.2024 - Brand new: the Hugo series from Schmeisser Germany! Design by Dietmar Pohl

The brand new HUGO ONE and HUGO TWO knives by Schmeisser are now available!

Schmeisser is one of the leading manufacturers of AR weapon systems that are both technically sophisticated and have passed the toughest authority tests. In addition to optics and other weapon accessories, Schmeisser has been planning for some time to develop its own line of knives that would meet both hunting and tactical requirements.

Designer Dietmar Pohl has a long-standing friendship with Schmeisser managing directors Andreas Schumacher and Thomas Hoff. Naturally, Dietmar Pohl offered his assistance in designing the Hugo knife line without hesitation. Schmeisser already had a rough idea of the designs and in the end it only took some fine-tuning to turn the HUGO ONE and HUGO TWO knives into robust and fully operational all-rounders. Schmeisser produces the HUGO series independently with international manufacturing partners. Pohl Force is pleased to be able to offer these interesting and attractively priced knives.

Over the past years, a third MOVIE KNIFE concept design has been slumbering in Dietmar Pohl's very personal design archive. Due to the enormously short lead time to filming in the fall of 2018, it had no longer been possible to realize it and present it to the film star and the production team.

Now available as a limited special version with a Kydex® sheath in the color FDE (Flat Dark Earth) and a matching lanyard of the knife. Including high-quality collector's pouch XXL. Only 55 pieces are available worldwide! Delivery while stocks last. The knives are part of the limited MK-11 series with the corresponding serial number "... of 600".
